What is the 50% expat exemption?
New Cyprus tax residents taking up first employment here with salary over €55.000 can exempt 50% of employment income from tax, if they weren't Cyprus tax residents for a qualifying period beforehand. Below €55.000, a 20% exemption (capped at €8.550) may apply instead.
