PENSIONS

Is there a maximum number of pension points in Cyprus?

Yes — 6,00 points a year, and the ceiling is not arbitrary: contributions stop at exactly 6 × the basic insurable earnings (6 × €11.480 = €68.904 for 2026), so earnings above that pay nothing and buy nothing. Inside each year the first 1,00 point counts as basic insurance and the rest as supplementary — which is why the basic part of the pension tops out at the full basic rate while the supplementary part keeps growing. There is no cap on your lifetime total: someone earning at or above the ceiling every year banks 1 basic plus 5 supplementary points, year after year.
